In November, a Danish frigate patrolling off of West Africa sent a group of special operators to investigate a suspicious boat. The Frømandskorpset operators deployed by the frigate took down the suspected pirates without any casualties. It was a rare look at Denmark's Frogman Corps, a little-known but highly skilled commando unit.

Article says they were in Afghanistan.
I still prefer the way the Russian Navy takes care of pirates; kill them all and sink their boat.

My cousin knew a guy who was deployed to fight the pirates. I always thought that would be an interesting job. When I think of pirates I think of non primitive people and I say kill all of them. I remember years back there was a ship out to sail it had 2 couples and somehow their ship got turned around or they missed their turn. They was on a mission I believe they were passing out bibles but the pirates jumped their ship and killed all four people. It was a sad story so I’m all for killing the pirates.

Ships can use 'deceptive lighting' to trick pirates into attacking.
For example, an American Navy warship can change the exterior lighting at night to make it appear as a merchant ship. All the world's navies do that.

Read something about that last year. Some Somali pirates thought they were knocking over a cruise ship and it turned out to be a Navy warship!

All it takes is one hole on the boat and they sink. Yet the world won’t allow weapons on ships.

I remember one ship India hired to protect their ships. The ship requested to enter port for fuel. India gave permission, then confiscated the ship and arrested the crew because they had weapons onboard.
India said the ship had permission to be armed to protect their ships, but not armed in port.
That's a good indication of why India is still a 3rd world country.
