Right and the brokers ain't stupid people as they're shrewd business people. They known when they're getting over, and when they have someone green. That rookie had no clue about freight lanes either. I forgot to mention his routing. He was gonna run 10 all the way to LA basically, then run up 5. Then he said he could deadhead to Sacramento from there for a load paying $4 per mile......I had to end that convo before I laughed too loudly.

Not only can that idiot not read a map, but deadheading 500+ miles is astoundingly stupid since their is freight in portland area…i give him maybe 6months and he’ll be out of business..those are some really dumb business decisions to say the least..

Wasn't very intelligent of an Owner Op I worked for as we (He & I) had our trucks Empty Westside of Albuquerque, NM & DEADHEADED to just North of Armadillo for 2 HEAVY Loads (Carbon Dust) to (not atlanta), GA.
I don't recall what the load paid But I'm sure it wasn't enough to Cover the 2 Trucks' Deadhead & Fuel & Load to Drop Point.
I often wondered HOW he was able to stay in business, with similar loads of that caliber.

The folks that set off my PROXIMITY ALARMS were the ones that STANK (not just B. O.) as well those with Beards that had food particles and/or those with Uniforms that had Food and Drink spillage stains, couldn't speak clear or any english, yet somehow claimed they were mistreated and disrespected.
"I have load, you load. I need you load. Number load. No change load. I no want wait, load now. Good load, pay $1.35 mile, I need go."

    CHUCKLES OWT!!
