Our OTR fleet does most of their washing on the road. In Ottumwa we run a lot of dedicated trailers that don't need rewashing for caustics and acids. Our bean squeezin' trailers are mostly toploaded. Lysine is washed at the loading facility prior to use.

The Foodliner guys seem to have a wash facility at each terminal and tend to run short dedicated frieght.

How many O/Os to company drivers do you think are there at Foodliner? Are they pushing you or other drivers to go the O/O route? Someone told me that its a $1.25 a mile there for O/O. Not bad considering many are getting only a .91-1.00 a mile now.

At the Eddyville Foodliner there are quite a few owner ops. There are also several lease ops. They don't push doing it but there are the usual posters showing how great of a deal it is to lease with them. Usually show 2k to start and 400 a month for 2-4 years and another 2k at the end. Not sure if that was the info you wanted. I am not sure what they are paying per mile to them or what other cost are involved. Seems like the frieght they pull could be conducive to it as they do mostly out and back loads so half their miles would be empty. They also seem pretty steady over there.

I missed all the snow and blow until I pulled into waterloo... still had slush on the ground... and about a foot of snow on my car...

opened the door and about died from a breath of well below zero air...

when did this happen??? I was only gone a couple of days....

    brrrrr....

    how cold was it????????

the snow didn't stick to the windshield... I flipped the wipers on and it all flipped off revealing a clear windshield... now that's cold...

slept at the west memphis pilot on the way down... woke up by a lot lizard banging on the door...

slept at the jackson ms. pilot on the way home... looked like a nicer area... got woke up... lot lizzard banging on the door again...

rough economic times?????????? I have never had a lizzard bang on the door... then twice on one trip????????? is it a southern thang?????

Lot lizards in Jackson? There are tons of them and beggars too! I was told by a bum there once that he was stranded. Same guy there 2 weeks later with the same story. I told him he wasn't going to fool me.
Glad to hear you are doing well. I'm hauling mail now for $1265 a week. I'm mildly happier. I don't like teaming, but I had to pay the bills.

    Good thread.

I was at your Blue Grass tankwash last Thursday. Had a dedicated load out of our Superior Carriers Memphis Terminal. Nice facility there in Blue Grass. I also mentioned that I was about to run my 14 out and the tankwash guy hurried to get me washed out in time to make it up to the Iowa 80 TA. I was impressed with that operation.

Do you guys have any terminals in North Carolina?
