    I'm down at the truck stop in LaPlace, LA. I unloaded Chinese in Harahan today, got there a day early. I'm going to get an early jump on reloading rubber in New Orleans tomorrow and get up to Mount Vernon early Thursday.

    Oh yeah, they don't even touch it through those hours. I wonder if they even touch during daytime hours lol.....that dirt they put down does a number on your truck when you drive through it. The rain down this way got some of the evidence of winter weather off my truck lol

    That’s encouraging and good to hear I’m glad she’s on the mend! Like I said I didn’t wanna pry but I did want you to know me and I’m sure the others in here were and are concerned and hoping for her speedy recovery. I’m doin good I’m still trying to find my niche comin out of end dumping. I miss it but being single and taking those pay cuts in winter I just couldn’t do it. I’ve started the hiring process to be a local shag driver for FCC and I actually go up to Fremont tomorrow to do a quick orientation Thursday. I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t looking forward to being home daily and having weekends off and being able to plan stuff with my daughter on those days. She’s 11 going on 18 and it won’t be too much longer before comin over to dads is gonna be a drag, so I hafta make up for time I’m sure is soon going to be lost :(

    I’ve been in that area admittedly a very few number of times, but as luck would have it when I was it was always right after or right during snow. And like you said I think they adhere to the principle of “well God put it there, God will take it away” because the road maintenance left much to be desired for.

    You ain't lying there. The last time I went to Monte Vista, I got to the bottom of LA Veta Pass and said the hell with it. I didn't feel like fooling with suspect road maintenance. I wish they had the dedication like Ohio or Wisconsin has. I decided on running through the night Saturday night out of Wisconsin. Those plow guys were watching the Packers....had to be....because those roads didn't even begin to get plowed til like 1030 that night lol

    It gets tough. I've been out on this road pretty much the entirety of my kids' lives. I'll tell you what man, I've certainly had to learn to use every moment so wisely when I do get them! Talk about creating some memories
