he told me earlier that he won't get to Lupton AZ due to running out of hours.

Do you EVER have a simple and normal day? -

can't control weather.
I can only control what I do.
I keep my start time the same and get to beaver/Lupton pretty close the same time.
I can't control what he does.dwells40 Thanks this. -

I got pulled in for an inspection this morning in WI.
When the officer came out he said it wasn't anything I did, but that my company has such a bad safety score he decided to do an inspection.
He said Swift has a score of 97 out of 100.
When I just looked at him he said, 100 is the worst score and Swift is at 97.
Oh!
It was only a Level 3, so he checked a few things, had me send my logs to him and went in with my CDL and permit book.
When he came back out he said something about Swift listing my trailer as a Wabash and when he ran it it was a Hyundai, but the VIN matched so...
But no violations and I got a clean inspection.
He hands me the inspection sheet, permit book and CDL saying that it might help that safety score a bit, and then hands me one more thing.
A $25 gift card for Walmart.
He said it was from a Christmas promotion a local FM station did.
Surprised the heck out of me, to be sure.JOHNQPUBLIC, Goldenfan, Criss_crssd and 6 others Thank this. -
I wonder how the planner thinks this is possible, or the people that set up the load.
Pick up at 1430, a live load.
Deliver the next morning at 0830 for a live unload, 360 miles away. (Going through Chicago, by the way.)
My day will start at 0630, and by the time I am loaded I will be looking for someplace to park for the night.
But even if I started my day at 1400, that load does not fit in a 14 hour schedule.
No need for more than 10.0 hours off.
No need for a pee break, time to eat or fuel, do a pre or post trip, consider traffic at under 65mph...
People that plan that crap are in serious need of re-education.
Or maybe just a fresh brain.navypoppop, fairshake, dptrucker and 1 other person Thank this. -
Second split sleeper. Either takecthec8 in the sleeper if enough time. If not enough, under the new HOS rules any off duty/sleeper time over 2 hours stops the 14. Just need to follow up with 7/8 in the sleeper, that can be included as part of a ten.
So it doable, if you want to do it.
Do I think the planners were smart enough to figure that out. No. They just went 1430 to 0830 equals 18 hours. 6 hours drive time plus 10 hour break plus 2 hours to load/unload ... it's gotta work, no problem.Moosetek13, navypoppop and Rugerfan Thank this. -
