Too much of a Bake Fest for me. Might be ok in the winter. That’s another reason I left Austin. I absolutely dreaded every summer. Hottest i ever saw there was 112 in sept. 2000. Typical temps were 95 to 100 for several months every summer.
    F that.

Thousands of new homes are planned for Phoenix. I posted the article a couple weeks ago.
I think it's the the Howard Hughes Corporation (NYSE:HHC )

I wonder how the underground water supply will hold up with all those new houses. I've read articles saying it will be enough and others saying it wont.

    D.Tibbitt and mjd4277 Thank this.

Thanks. My grandson is doing his medical residency at a Phoenix hospital. From what he says there are already signs of water depletion.
LOL...He says that as soon as he's done with his residency he's going somewhere where the color green isn't against the law. He was born and raised in the redwoods, did college and med school in the Bay Area. After a lifetime of green and cool I think Arizona was a real shock to him.

Unlivable ? Ive been here for 26 years . worked outside in it for close to 10 .. My parents have lived here almost 60 years. Great greatparents moved here in the 30s... Thats almost 100 years of living in an unlivable state... Maybe it would be more livable if those californias doofuses stayed out.

Don't worry, grandson is out of there as soon as his obligation is over. He's a pretty level headed kid and he'd probably fit in real well and be an asset to the medical community but he says he misses green trees, wind without sand blasting, and real grass.
You and your family might be one of the few that have lived there that long. That's admirable. Grandson says everybody he meets is from someplace else and they don't plan on staying long.
Don't sweat it. The Californians you're dealing with will soon be gone. They never stay anywhere but they do stay long enough to screw things up. This year it's Arizona, next year or the year after they'll head out, the real estate prices will drop back to a more moderate level, and there might be enough water for everybody.
