His insurance company. CSA 2010 will be used by insurance companies to shut down companies and drivers. The government doesn't have to do it, it will be done for them by a private industry.

Insurance companies will have little affect with the CSA 2010 data. It will come from the government first.

Insurance companies already have their own rating system.

Once the data is up and running the insurance companies are going to be using it. Most of the data the insurance companies use now is from your DMV record, and we know that CSA 2010 will keep far more data then your DMV record.

If you don't think that insurance will use it, your crazy. It will be a new way for them to raise rates and make more money.

I am not concerned what the insurance companies do.

However, I am concerned what a rogue officer might do.

If you think that it cannot happen, then I believe you could be crazy as well.

As far as tickets, the last speeding ticket was in 1976.

Never received log tickets or anything like that. I have not WANTED to move a trailer that was not okay, such as lights. Even to move across town to our yard.

Under the new laws, if caught doing such, it is a driver violation as well as company. The company REQUIRES the driver to bring to the yard.

    Catch 22.

CSA will kill the intermodal division, that,s what I,m doing now. It,s all about the train, you tell the shipper single in the front and it,s stacked front to back 12 inches from the ceiling- overweight. The shippers have it in there head, that it,s going on a train who cares. So why isn,t there training for these bums. And when I get popped for pulling a presealed trailer, that on the bills it says 30,000 lbs. and it,s 45,000 is 82,000, what are my legal rights can I sue the shipper, because it will cost me thousands of dollars in income over the next few years. And yes I can feel if a trailer is overweight, but there isn,t always a scale before you hit the coop. I,ve quit alot of companys over the last 3 years, because of there junk, and now I can,t hit the coop and tell them I need to be looked at, because It will screw up my rating #, great system- when are we shutting down. I hear drivers getting it for an air line hanging down 17 in. instead of 18 in., that,s really dangerous, wow good thing thing you put him out of service to keep us safe, give me a break. How about retesting 4 wheelers and 0 tollerance for drinking and driving for 4 wheelers.

The owner/operator will carry his unfit rating with him where ever he goes, and the new start-up qualifications are much stricter than they have been in the past.

FACT:If your CSA2010 Driver safety score is to high,YOU will be Blackballed by the Insurance Company and the Carrier. The only way for the Driver to protect Him or Her self is "DO NOT WORK FOR ANY BOTTOM FEEDER COMPANYS WITH A HIGH SAFETY SCORE" The rules of the game have changed. Drivers and carriers with low safety scores will be in bed together!!!!!

With JB and Schneider major players in intermodal it'll only grow . They will correct many of the problems , especially the poor equipment .

Some of you driver are crying CSA2010 will get you a bad rating and put you in a bad spot. If you have bad equipment on the road you stand a chance of getting stopped and ticket, which leads to you loosing your job. Second option is to not pull the equipment and loose your job. Which choice is the better one over all? I would say that safety over the job is the right choice.

The mega company,s are the cheapest. Example I worked for schneider in 08, I went there to check them out before I bought a truck and leased on under the program where you go on there load board and choice where and what you whant to haul.Anyway a road worthy tire a t sni, is one that has 10 inches of tread gone, that,s not dot legal. The only way to fix intermodal is to have a team of mechanics at every ramp-rail yard. The boy -man who drops the boxes is pretty rough with them, knocking light plugs off, and setting containers on chasis with mud flaps missing, or blown shreaded tires. You can have a light working and hit a pot hole and the plug comes off the light, because it was barrelly connected. So to do it right you should remove every light and plug them back in. On some chasis they have steel rivoted rings around the light, so you,ld have to drill the rivets out. The yard jockeys grab the chasis and don,t care what kind of shape there in, that,s the beginning of the problem, you,ld have a better chance of the easter bunny hopping by than finding a professional person in the rail yards.
