From what I’ve read on here about Crete from several different threads I don’t think you are going to be happy with them. There might be better choices out there for you get into the groove again.

Jeez what u want is OTR or national and a good Asset Manager and tell them how u run and when you went to go home and for how long hopefully there's a terminal near you...Shaffer you'll get .03 more per mile than the dry side but we get stuck at blue beacon, trailer sweep or lead blowout takes longer cause or the air pass ridges inside out 53's have a little flathead or screwdrivers don't care about cause the wooden pallets get stuck in there some times, a little more live loads and the reefer that your neighbor around you adore the sweet dreams it provides for their sleep!

Yup, Did a drop N hook at romark marks PA no empties sent to americold down the road they had mts but they needed them ended up having to go to 3 places in total until I got an empty...1.5 hours lost hunting one down and encroached on my next live load of paper at 65 degrees temp...he's absolutely correct having a trailer could have you run more efficiently in these dark times! Been on 3 separate mt scavenger hunts in last 2 weeks...once your clock starts you have that 3 hour buffer of off duty but it's going...not a friend especially if you run off recaps...

One of my fellow drivers, he's older about to hit 70 already was Shaffer here for over 6 years collected basically 5k for his company profit so no its true but only after 2 years are you vested 20% and your age plays a role when you can withdraw

    About Crete...

    What I don't like is
    • the opti-idle,
    • no APU,
    • the fuel solution telling driver where to fuel and how much...

    What I like is
    • Freightliner truck (which is all that have driven so far),
    • the southeast regional (I don't want northeast and west coast for now)
    • the refrigerator (not sure if I would get a truck with one though),
    • the pay (seems good)....
So far I have checked by phone and in person 20 or more companies here in TN....
It would be much easier to find a good match if I wanted weekends off, or if I wanted to pull reefer, or run all 48 states...

Spoke with Denny Herman (DHT) last Friday.. told him I was going to look somewhere else since he couldn't find me a trainer in over a month... And that if I can't find anything after a while, I may check with them again... And he said ok and they will make sure they will get one.... I bet there will be one for me then...

    dwells40 Thanks this.

We have a terminal in Lenoir city, West of Knoxville. Idk how close to there you are, but maybe stop in? It's also probably where you'd do orientation. We also have one in west Memphis, though building a new one there. I think at this point you'll get a truck with a fridge. Think they started getting them in the 2018s. The trucks are set up to idle for 5 min without opti idle turned on. If it's over 95 or under 10 they'll idle continuously.

Yeah... But I don't want 48 states... I have done that and now I want to stay in the warm climate... southeast and south... preferable no CA....
But if I end up going to DHT, will have to go to CA... :biggrin_1square1:
If I went back going 48 states, I would definitely get a truck with APU...
Also don't want reefer.... no... no... no.. crazy hrs and that noise and more equipment to monitor... and all the other nuisances that you mentioned... :biggrin_2552:

    A place to park? :)

I already have a safe place that I am renting to park the truck when I come off the road... it's a storage fenced lot with cameras and security.... rented that back in December when I thought would start with DHT in Jan.... still paying to hold the space...

When you guys go hunting for empties... and run a few extra miles... does company pay for those miles? Does it pay anything for the "hunt"?
