Pardon my ignorance, I thought that wrenches are made to pull off and put on. Meat grinder can be "cheated" with a half inch torque wrench, just have to find the right torque on it to get exact "clicky" on the nuts. It's like.. 20 pounds on 1/2 wrench will be 400 on the nut through the meat grinder (ok, torque multiplier). Just play with it with a real 1 inch to find out exact what is needed.

They are. But first, who removes lugs with a torque wrench? And second, he's asking what torque wrench will handle the torque specs on a lug nut. There is no spec for loosening them. Context clues.

I understand a mix up, or a drunk post, or whatever. But there was nothing "pointless" about his post. You talk down to a lot of people here under the guise of "I've got no patience for stupidity". There's a lot of good people here from all walks of life. We don't all know the same things.

Take that guy asking how to keep his drawer shut. Maybe he was going to jury rig it himself, but figured he'd try and see if someone here had a better solution first. Maybe he has trouble thinking outside the box, or maybe he wants to cover all his bases before he makes a move. You never know.

I have a Mac 3/4 my dad bought in the early 80's. Last time it got a head, they said good luck getting that model again.

Proto makes some affordable, quality torque wrenches.

Totally agree, repent, will be fixed. Thank you for being nice and pointing my bad behavior out. I grew up in a harsh environment, still have some left overs. I'm seriously working on myself, thanks to folks like yourself, God prefers Diesels, getting there :notworthy:

My apologies to OP. I was thinking about cheaper version of a torque wrench, my bad. These kind of tools don't just sell around used, there are not so many, so it is new, as was pointed out in previous posts, especially if it is going to be used often.

I've typed out many posts and deleted them. It's near impossible to "keep it in check" sometimes, and I've posted things I wish I hadn't. I remind myself of the reason I'm here in the first place - to learn, and maybe help. This place is one of the greatest resources on the Internet.

We got from rookie to retired. Box truck to super loads. Stupid questions, good questions, great questions, and questions I never even knew I wanted to know the answer to. We got company drivers, owner operators, lease operators, hot shot, LTL. We got shrimp stew, shrimp kabobs, shrimp scampi, grilled shrimp, and if we all put our backs together, we won't have to sleep with our heads in the mud.

The recalibration was about $200. Don't know why the head wasn't warrantied.

If you want Snap-on quality without the price on a torque wrench, CDI makes their torque wrenches and is now owned by Snap-on.

My last one wasn't either and understood. Middle of the night and changing a tire in the mud. 3/4 breaker T bar broke with 4 foot pipe. Only thing long enough was the Mac Torque wrench. Oldman didn't even hesitate. Tire was done. It was junk. Told me to have it fixed. His choice.
