It’s not a Class A job, however I was offered this position recently and was wondering how that would look as far as Cryo/Hazmat experience in attempting to go from here into a Class A job.
Anybody in this position for another company or working at AirGas right now with a little inside info?

If you have no experience at all with cryo or hazmat then this might be a good first step. It's hauling CO2 to restaurants and bars. Have you asked your recruiter what the procedure would be to transfer into a class A position after a year or two?

I’ve got a couple months gas hauling but that’s about it as far as haz. -

Wow air gas has increased their wages. 3 years ago they wanted you to run those co2 tanks for 10.00 hr.

All of the top 5 private cryo companies will take on a driver with no tanker experience. Or sometimes even no trucking experience. Mainly because they can't keep any drivers because of the driver facing cameras and alot of micro management.
Airgas is probably the worst or next to the worst. In the cryo tanker job market. But they don't put cameras in there cylinder trucks. You might do better going to that division. All you do is deliver loaded cylinder racks to customers. Then they reload you with empty racks. And you just repeat until your done for the day.CastleNut Thanks this. -
I delivered a bulk load to one today. They’re a regular customer for me.
They are actually worse in my opinion, than you’re regular bulk cryo carriers. The trucks only do 63, they put too many loads on their drivers, and since prax bought them, their bulk tanks are always critically low.
It’s to the point the Nuco2 yard managers will beg you to come and deliver their bulk loads, under any circumstance.
I’ve never been offered so much parking, #### one guy out in Missouri gave me the passcode to the building to grab a shower, “make yourself some coffee, just get the #### here.”
I’m having to vapor pressure dry tanks under 150 PSI, that’s how badly prax is doing keeping up with THEIR OWN COMPANY.
To wrap up a rambling post, they’re still only paying those guys under $20/hour, with a very demanding schedule, on three shifts when they have the product to push out.
In short, it’s a ####ing #### show.usamerica Thanks this. -
That pay is way too low even for entry level. My local Sonic pays $21/hr.
