I like to know has there been any federal legislation that would create a lane of traffic separate from the main Highway even though it could be right next to it just for trucks? That would prevent any fatal accidents with Passenger cars. What I saw yesterday was just absolutely horrifying. Several cars that were crushed beyond recognition. Thankfully only two to three vehicles were involved and one death. It's even worse and devastating during the winter when there's ice involved and fog? I also like to know if truck drivers have any kind of sensors that constantly measured that the distance between the truck and the car and give warnings to stop? The accident that occurred the other day in Tacoma on Interstate 5 was an intoxicated truck driver. Is there any kind of legislation that would require the truck driver to breathe into a breathalyzer? It wasn't too long ago maybe a few weeks ago at the same time a FedEx contractor sideswiped a road worker killing him instantly. You actually was not a road worker he was a tow truck driver. And that driver was also intoxicated?? I can't wait for the day that trucks are being controlled by autonomous driving computer systems. It is proven that it works extremely well in China. On YouTube you can watch as autonomous shuttles that is shuttles that drive passengers has no driver and drives down the highway system taking them to their bus spots. Also the city buses are driverless and they will actually pull up into the charging stations automatically and charge before they go on their next shift? Driving a vehicle whether it's a car or a semi is being controlled by two laws. The laws of physics and the laws of geometry that's it. That's all it needed to take a semi from one location to another. It uses the various series of sensors that's including GPS, laser range measurements, radar measurements, computer vision AI. This is most of the sensors used by the Tesla except it does not use laser range. It would certainly make our highways much safer that's my firm belief!
We just had another fatal serious Trucking accident in Tacoma

There are early warning systems and automatic braking systems in some tractor-trailers.
Problem is, many drivers refuse to work for companies that have those systems.mjd4277, austinmike and JoeyJunk Thank this. -
