Well, I had to wonder at how thorough a pr trip was done last night on a pretrip.

We got an interline trailer missing both wheels and the brakes on the forward axle on the pass side.

I know I am going to lose some intellectual favor from your guys once I poat this, but i was yard goat for a while and I can tell you that I didn't give a crap how many wheels were attached to the trailer.

I was married to my little radio and once a trailer moved from one spot to another, I couldn't care less what was wrong with it.

When you are doing 10-20 moves per hour your priorities change. You assume inbound P&D is doing a proper post trip and that linehaul is doing a proper pretrip. Ultimately, their names are on the DVIR and not mine.

Edit:. Same is true vice versa. You assume inbound linehaul does a proper post trip while outbound P&D does a proper pretrip. Obviously you caught it.

    Look at it this way..
If we fix it here it goes on my terminal expenses
If we transfer it we eat the labor
We save money by pushing the problem down the road to the next sap.
I see stuff like this all the time. When I lost a brake pod to a road hazard and two new tires before I could get over did the same thing.
Only because it was my dime. $1600 dollars later and did not pay a road service call...

This is exactly what's wrong with so many companies. Everyone has their own little kingdom to protect, instead of considering what's best for the company as a whole.

Anyone ever make the switch to hauling fuel from p&d or vise verse? I’m starting to get the LTL blues. I like my route. Like my customers. Run 20-28 stops a day. 930am-630pm. Just got my 3rd week of vacation. But I’ll be dang if the management wants to ruin it. Always having to move freight around because they can’t load in the right order. Shoving skids next to each other so tight you can’t move it with a pallet jack. Seeing people do their job half ### and not having any pride makes me lose all my motivation to do things the right way. It’s making the grass look greener on the other side. You can’t load fuel in the wrong order right? Lol

Don’t forget having to the lazy driver’s pickups because your dispatcher doesn’t want them to have to work too hard.
