Read the news on JB at the financial sites . JB is moving away from OTR and focusing on intermodal . They contracted with Norfolk Southern which mostly moves east and west across the south . Schneider contracted with CSX .

OOIDA can't read minds any better than TAB can!And TAB was stupid enough to KEEP handing Doug money on is WORD? Why ask why OOIDA LET their members be "victimized" like that! They will help THEIR MEMBERS that got burned and any who join in that got bent by Arrow.

It's the same as these idiots that blame FEMA for New Orleans's problems! They ONLY come in AFTER the problem hits not before!

Now if the one driver that another story was about had notified OOIDA before this crapola had hit the fans I bet a dime to your donut that they would have been on top of it in a NY minute! At least he might have learned that Arrow wasn't making the payments to the lien holders and bailed or got a suit started before that bottom feeder Doug and his "posse" "suspended operations"!

If OOIDA had a good fortune teller on staff they might have been able to do something before Arrow bent over 1500 people but as there are no such people as fortune tellers OOIDA will help those who want them to help pick up the pieces!

RickG, I'm sorry that you had a bad experience with OOIDA in the past but I never had any problems with them. They always came through for me and all of my friends that needed them in the past. It's just too bad that more drivers don't join them for a bigger and louder voice to be heard.

just a follow up on this. I spoke again with my recruiter yesterday and asking the questions (tho I don't yet know what some of the right answers are) ya'll have provided, thank you very much, by the way!, aside from paying my own way back should I flunk something, and the forced dispatch, I feel the answers were satisfactoy. I reckon only time will tell. I've opted to fly (5hrs vs 26) and will have to pay that outta pocket. But for 100 bucks I can get back to the house pretty quick, also. Thanks for all the resources ya'll put out here for us newbies!!

If you think a Lease Purchase deal on a Truck is a good way to make money, you may need a drug test.

OOIDA didn't allow any of their members to be "victimized" . OOIDA member's who get "victimized" in fleece/purchase scams let themselves be "victimized". There ain't no such thing as a free lunch. When you lease a truck from a trucking company you should just print I'm an idiot on your forehead. There are just to many drivers out there who want to be owner operator's yet don't want to do what it actually takes to be an owner operator. Then they whine and cry that the company riped them a new one. Wake up boy's and girl's, if you want to be an owner operator YOU have to do the hard work and make the sacrifice. You ain't gonna get it with a no money down fleece.

How do these guys end up in these deals in the first place:perhaps looking at some of the reasons why might help, but it all boils down to one thing, "Due Diligence"

Every good salesman/woman knows people buy (lease) on emotions.
    lack of information
    rushing into it
    bad advice
in theory it is believed: the only way the company can profit is if I profit. ha ha
basic math skill or lack there of
wanna run wit da big dawgs (pride)
not dedicated to becoming a student of the business, lack of research.
being so fed up doing the company thing they believe the lease thing is the answer
not fully developed at the company stage
some don't even drive a truck, they're idea; lease a truck, stick a driver it, make a bunch $$$
    having a dependence mentality
    zeal without knowledge
faith you can do something you don't really have a passion for..
