What's running hard mean? Dunno. Never had to work too hard really.
I can say this with absolute certainty though, as I've seen it firsthand.
We run local, five sometimes six days a week. We've had OTR guys come here, ready to show everyone how to work. Usually they last five or six months at best. Not because they're not good at driving, but they can't handle the daily grind that we do. Don't get me wrong, some have worked out very well. Others, not so much.
But, the work we do is monotonous. We might run four loads a day to the same place, five days a week. Mostly on two lane back roads. Other times we run a different route every day.
But after a while, you get irritated at the slightest inconvenience to you. You just wanna get done and get home as quick as possible. Most guys wash out at that point.
Those that can push past that and relax and enjoy the paychecks are the ones last a long time around hereGearjammin' Penguin, BigBob410, Midwest Trucker and 2 others Thank this. -
