Its sounds as though you either dont have a set Fleet Manager, or that you DO have one.....but you arent that "tight" with him/her......and also, usually the requests are handed out and made available to senior drivers.....every driver in every fleet, is requesting days off for that week......some driving positions/ situations are easy to get holidays off......JB Hunt Intermodal .....easy......Werner Otr......not so easy......so.....put in your year and move to a more regional type of position .....or , better your relations with your Fleet Mgr.....

That sounds pretty ####ty, i dont think i ever worked a job where we got christmas off i guess im used to it now... I done worked every holiday this year and #### proud of it but then again i aint married with kids or nothin like that... I would stick it out for a year get that experience in and then start lookin around for another company... Hell start lookin at companies right now, watch for certain companies in the areas u like to be in and that will tell u who u should be looking to work for after u get ur year in

Last company I was with, i requested specific days for home time and I'd give my fleet manager plenty of notice. Sometimes they'd try to screw me over and I'd put my foot down but then again I was a lease operator (i know people talk #### about that but not with them anymore anyways). I never took home time often, I was out for 2 - 3 months and the closer it got to the time I needed to be home, they tried sending me away and I told them either send me a load that will get me home on this day or I am bobtailing. They would get me a load a lot closer plus it was better paying load too, love how that works too. lol. If they aren't working with you, try to find something else when you can. I stopped driving 7 months ago for a family emergency but I am getting hired with a different company and they say they will work with me on home tim

That's one of the reasons I escaped my old home, the PC speak was getting really bad in the 80's

Books were published to teach people which words to use thesaurus style.

Just do your 1 year and put in for time at home and clean out your truck on Sunday when nobody is there. When they try to give you another assignment Monday tell them you've moved on and truck is in the yard emptied out.

    So here’s my two sense.

I just hired a friend who literally got his license 2 weeks ago.

To add him to my insurance was $0 / year.

I don’t understand this whole “you need 1 year experience to be able to work for us”

You're a rarity in the industry my friend. I always say a year to new drivers moreso to guarantee that entire industry opens up to them, all the while honing their skills

Guys, this is a 3 year dead thread. Even Jesus didn't let them ripen more than 3 days if he was gonna resurrect.

When is the cut-off date? When has enough time passed to declare a thread deceased?

I've not seen any official communiqué from TTR disallowing posts after a certain length of time.
