Yeah I've had several people look at it. The vibration causes tire wear, so they blame the tires, or king pins, or alignment, even though it's obvious while going down the road that it's coming from the drive line. On mine, I'm told the slip yoke has a plastic piece in the middle, which tends to freeze up, and the yoke can't move like it's supposed to. As it wears the vibration gets progressively worse. Mine is the worst with an empty trailer.

Luckily i have atleast have of the equipment you mentioned from mistakes ive made just pulling a flatbed :biggrin_25523: i booked a small boom lift. Just a short tucson to phoenix run.. Then was working on a short oversize that goes 50 miles. 20L 10 W 11H 10k pounds.. But not sure that one is going to work out with the broker. The weekend run is supposed to be a telehandler, im guessing picking up at ritchie bros in phoenix .. But just waiting on the rate con for that one still... Starting off slow and easy until i can get in a good groove with this new trailer.

CAT is the only equipment DoD gets "two lives" out of. They will do a "reset" after so long which is checking and adjusting numerous components and then do a complete rebuild. I was involved in rebuilding several of those along with motor graders and scrapers. 15 days to tear down and submit your AWE and 60 days to put it back together and paint. Interesting deal really. Saw one that had less than 500 hours since reset (15+ yrs earlier) that had been in Panama....looked like holes and rust, not a D7.

I have not. Like I said it throws me for a loop because its a shake and it's not constant. Ride height has been checked as well.

Do you have a vibration or is it a shake? What I've got is an extremely harsh shaking.

Why do they load steel coils in and upright position? It would seem to me it would be safer to insert a block of wood in the center of the coil that would allow for a fork lift lip and then the block, fork lift lip would all be mounted to the trailer with circular (rolled) steel where a heavy duty bolt would go through the steel and all attached with a lock washer and a nut. Then if you are a belt and suspenders kinda person, throw a couple of chains over the top.

Hauled everything else, but never steel. (In any form.)
    Unless fence posts counts.

Sitting here in Newburgh, NY. Stupid secondary broker screwed crap up and the load that I went to deliver today in Montgomery, NY at 2:30 a.m. doesn't get delivered now until 2:30 a.m. tomorrow morning. So get to sit and wait, wait, WAIT
