    ATA is the culprit here.

Well the government, especially this administration never does anything intelligent and this new proposal is just another example.....

The ATA and the National Highway Safety Administration (NTSA), who has been pushing the FMCSA to do this for several years now, are the main culprits behind this. And unfortunately, drivers will cry and complain about it, but in the end they will get their way.

I can't forsee any issues or problems with this proposal....lol
Thank the lord I'll be gone before it is in place. Hopefully the next administration can put some cabinet members in place who can forsee problems with this...I don't see any advantages.

Probably more then you know already there. Had one in charge of the FBI for 48 years.

    Politicians got some kinky habits.

It's funny how everyone thinks a different party running things is going to make everything better. The only thing that will change is which crooked politician is screwing you. Change the party, you'll still be getting effed.

Far as speed limiters...don't agree with it. Commonsense should be the rule, but it's not very common. So we end up with rules like this.

    ;)

Are they though? Average age of a truck driver peaked in about 2015, been declining slightly since.

From what i can gather, there was a very large cohort (25-35) in about the early 90s that got onto it and stuck through it, but theyre dying off/quitting/retiring
generations before and after that chunk join and leave in a more average distribution, but that chunk is so large it skews almost all the data, runs from 20-50% of the driver population, depending on who or how you ask.

So if the average driver age was about 50 in 2015, and its 46 now, why should we think they ARENT quitting? (yes youll frequently see 55 and climbing cited but according to raw data, this is wrong, thats cdl holders, not employed)

    Lumper Humper Thanks this.
