Honestly, I think it's nothing about safety at all. If I recall, back when elogs were being discussed, the ATA stated they wanted to 'level the playing field' (another way of pushing their agenda of cheap labor).
Then the ATA stuck their nose in the driver training regulations. And look at what we got now- ya can't just go read the book, take the tests and start driving. Gotta go to school they say. Isn't it too convenient that those in the ATA are large training companies (some of which have some of the worst training programs known to man) .
Same with speed limiters. 'Level the playing field' (aka I can't compete with you so I'll make a law so you have to accommodate me)

So I got 2 very standard replies (simple form letter) from my state reps, one of them completely missed the boat and somehow sent me a response regarding gun control?? I guess this just goes to show how much they actually pay attention.

Putting Speed Limiters on Commercial Vehicles will just be an accident waiting to happen and i dont mean from the Commercial Vehicle. The way the Cages drive your going to be picking a few a yr outta your rear ICC bumper. Could you imagine a row of trucks driving along side each other say at 60 mph the Cages would be using the shoulders and any other means to pass. I just dont see in going down

Nope, they will raise fed gross weight to 90k. Because you can do it safely at 60 mph. You will haul more for same rate, and slower.Another Canadian driver, TheLoadOut and ProfessionalNoticer Thank this.
