I did it at least 6 times in my career that I remember and yes almost all was because someone or something disturbed my routine of dropping the trailer/neck. I found that double checking every step if distracted stopped that from happening.

I was hauling Jaguars out of Port Newark back when we chained cars down. I put 2 on the top of the trailer and was getting ready to chain them from underneath. A new guy came to me and asked for help. I went and helped him and came back to my trailer lifted it up and loaded three in the belly and took off south. I stopped in Elkton , Md to get fuel and was checking my load and saw a few chains hanging that should have been used on the top deck. I rode from Newark to Elkton with 2 5,000# Jags on the top of the trailer without a single chain on the cars! Surprised me they didn’t move at all but I still got that sick feeling in my gut thinking what could have happened to 2 $95000 cars and who I could have hurt! Distractions will get you every time. After that experience I always leave my load bar where I was in the load and triple check everything!

I’m glad you got away only paying $600. I know with how tight margins are nowadays that’s a lot but around here it would have been at least double that if not more. That’s a good attitude you have there no use getting overheated about something you can do nothing about. It sucks but about all you can do is move forward. Hopefully some extra good will find you on the next one.

Agreed, now this will not be popular opinion and I have a FD background. Osb walls with a glossy paint would be next to impossible to catch fire. But if you have a big hot fire, the steel dont matter either. Around here they want 2 layers of 5/8 drywall for a fire rated wall. But it will fall on you with moisture. So I like osb. But the glue in OSB,LVL, Pre engineered I-Beams are bad too. Burn hot. Great for weight, sucks with fire.

Don't get me started on light weight engineered steel frame work. A Walmart is a bag of charcoal away from a complete collapse.

This is a personal opinion that goes against my educations. Beer normally will be ok in a sturdy fridge.

Check your local code. Osb on ceiling is fine around here. But if its drywall they want 2 layers. The osb sucks to paint.

I would use white steel siding on ceiling
Your lights will be brighter. Osb on walls and paint semi gloss. Wipes off easier.

But residential and commercial is way different around here.

I'll have to do a little digging on our local building codes. I need to get 220 run out there first and whatnot before I worry about sheeting it in.
