Will do brother, and thanks everyone for the well wishes. One cool thing I didn't know about was Mike doesn't start Taking the truck payment out of your settlement for the 1st 2 - 3 weeks. So you have time to build-up some cash , Be working 6 days a week for the next few weeks and just going home for a restart To build-up a reserve and get that maintenance fund nice and fat. This 1st week was kind of sabotaged from the start. With not starting the lease until Wednesday and being in the loner truck the 1st couple of days, had a stupid load coming out of the house Monday that they didn't have clearance on yet so they wanted me to wait at the house until I got the go ahead from them. They ended up changing that and didn't get to leave the house till 10:30 AM. I hate starting that late! So of course that has snowballed into a late start everyday this week. Then my 1st load on the lease yesterday I wish I would have said no to, but didn't want to start things out like that. Looking forward to getting this week over with and rolling early out of the house Monday morning and getting a nice start to next week. I've got to have a talk with my DM and start getting some nice long loads again. I've been willing to help out for quite a while and helping on the short haul board, so I think she's kind of got used to that. but that isn't going to cut it now that I'm paying the bills lol. I know it will all work out though, even doing all those stupid short loads she always get me at or over 3000 miles per week. It's just a lot harder way to get there , And I've got to be very mindful of empty miles now. That's something we never worried about as a company driver

Awesome. I know FCC will take good care of you as an O/O.

Please keep us posted too as some of us keep eyeing that option.

Please explain. Don’t you get paid for empty miles? I thought you got paid like we do except at a higher rate. I could be wrong. Or are you talking about empty as I’m going home not under a load kind of empty?

So this little dedicated route is coming to an end for me.

I’m coming to the end of needing to be off weekends and I guess they have another driver in the pipe for it, so the timing is working out great. I’ll still be using home time in Illinois for a bit until we get the full transition and move complete but it will be the regular home time every other week kind of thing.

    Long Haul Here I Come!!!

And I do want to give a big pat on the back to FCC too.

While the beginning of this was a win/win situation as they needed a warm body in the seat for this leg and they knew of moms situation so it was beneficial to both sides, they have allowed me to stay in it a bit longer than planned.

They could have easily said “sorry Driver, we hired someone for that leg and we need you back on your LH Fleet so we are switching you over” they didn’t. They allowed me to stay on this leg longer than they needed a warm body in the seat.

I do hope that by doing so they didn’t create a headache for themselves or the next driver to take over this leg but…

    This Driver Really Appreciates It!!!

    Thank You FCC!!!

Not sure if you got your answer or not but here’s my two cents worth.

I live in SC and get through TN fairly often. Or used to until I was asked to help with this dedicated route issue above.

While I split my home time between SC and IL, I don’t see it being an issue to get home to TN on a monthly or semimonthly basis.

You will likely be on the company’s Long Haul Fleet, like I am, as I’m not sure they would hire from TN to run on their Midwest Fleet.

But please call Mike in Recruiting and he will say for sure.

Feel free to mention you’ve been talking to the fine FCC Drivers on TTR… lol
