That is my intention: tough it out and survive it. I just want to get out with my health intact. Do you have any advice for foods to eat while in training? Thank you for your thoughts.

LOL! Ok, maybe I have thought about that since realizing from posts that he is a slave driver. I don't think it would look good on my resume, lol

Thank You. That is exactly what I am going to do. I am pretending I was drafted and I don't have a choice. Who knew I would be stuck with a drill sergeant, lol

Thanks, yes, taking that now. Good advice. I haven't been sick in 5 years and I am taking this seriously.

Well, because of all the folks on this forum responding to me, I am now empowered. I understand now that this kind of training is extreme. It empowers me to take precautions and develop a strategy to deal with it. Thank you all very much. I am now going to try and be a contributing member here on thetruckersreport and help others and share insights. That is, when I go solo, lol. Right now, I am in need of all the infor I can get.

Good attitude. Being in another persons truck the first few weeks is the hardest part of trucking. I personally chose the company I started with based on it having the shortest mentorship I could find. It was probably the toughest two weeks of my life. Lol. The company even paid less, but I knew I’d never be able to do more than that.

Up your Zinc intake as much as you can. When you take a shower, try to take a hot shower (enough you can handle) and get them lungs cleared. You are having a harder time just because you are so tired and they are running you ragged. I never heard anything good from KLLM personally. Be safe out there though. Don't drive tired, please. Don't let him run you to the ground. If you are tired, stop if need be. Also, drop your carb intake and raise your protein intake as much as possible (meats, fish). High in fat, but low in carbs. Get plenty of Vitamin B12 as well. Hang in there, driver ;) Good luck out there!

Does your trainer smoke by chance?

Agree 100% This is the problem with so many companies. They just run you to the ground and then wonder why drivers quit. It isn't the easiest job out here on the road, but people can manage and adjust but with these stupid companies, they get drivers and run them right back out of the industry for using them as you say, like slaves.

That is absolutely BS. He is not training you! I would take it up with the company. And btw: normally you should be able to adjust the temperature separate from the front of the cab and the sleeper. But yes, like others on here have said.....they aren't training you. They are forced teaming while I'm assuming you get paid crap. I've switched around a few companies and found one I really liked doing flatbed. Not the highest paying, but I got treated very well. Unfortunately, the insurance was fighting with my boss over me not having two years and I had to go with another company until I get that full 2 years. I had both my bosses, several of the other drivers, and even the insurance agent fighting for me. But it just wasn't good enough. My company now where I am getting that experience isn't anything like yours sounds (sorry you are dealing with that). But I wanted to quit this company too with some of the things I've been dealing with. We run more as team (the mechanic that did my road test said my trainer could sleep while I drive....I have had prior experience and it shows), but I need more training with backing. But my trainer I've caught him texting and driving and watching movies while driving too. Stresses me out! But I need to stick with it here because if I go anywhere else I would be stuck with a trainer again. I've had several bad ones. My company that I want to go back to, I went with my boss for 3 days and then he cut me loose.
