Trucking in North America vs around the world

Windmills kill birds by the thousands too.

 

Here in the states, truckers are used to old style old technology truck, with old Eaton Fuller transmissions, I have one lol,. However, European trucks are high tech high comfort trucks. Look at inside of a Volvo or a Scania truck compared to old analog gauges from our US trucks.
Scanias and Volvos have been using synchronsized transmissions with air clutches for over 40 years now.
Volvo has the FH 750 HP and Scania offers the R 770 HP V8. Nothing like these here in the States.

 

Volvo and Scania introduced synchronsized transmissions, built in their own works to their own drawings, at the beginning of the 1950ies. Mercedes, Henschel and other European makers were decades later.

They also pionered the ATMs thirty years ago.

 

Its been said many times in these threads: we, on the whole, prefer analog gauges and classic styling. Its a preference thing, not a lack of technology.

 

Fuller Roadranger was started in early 50's also.

A weird kind of draw bar conection to the dolly in Patilos Chile. The same weird kind of draw bar connection is common in Australia acording to photos in Internet. Last time I was in Australia is 57 years ago and did not see any dollys at all there.
