I can’t tell you how many drivers I’ve seen with their phones AND IPads attached to the center of the steering wheel. I guess that makes it “hands free” and ok in their minds….

 

Subsidence cracks are unstoppable, unless they filled the cavity’s with concrete, and we know that won’t happen.

I’ve dropped rocks into subsidence cracks in abandoned mines, when it falls for 6 to 10 seconds before you hear a noise, you know it’s down a ways.

I had a Cat D4 dozer start standing up like it was running over a log in Whitesville, WV area. Just to realize it was a crack, couldn’t back up because the winch was down in the crack, talk about odd feelings…..

 

I don't think mentioning the driver's ethnicity matters here. The bottom line is he tried to stop 51 feet prior as mentioned earlier. He had no chance. Condolences to the lost victims.

 

It does when that particular ethnicity keeps having a pattern of these kinds of wrecks, yet we American blooded drivers get #### on because foreign fools can't slow down or read English...

 

He had a chance to slow down long before 51 feet but he didn't...

I hope they execute him, I don't want my tax dollars used to feed this loser, one less idiot from California blocking the fuel lanes.

 

Dang you angry ain't ya? Lol...seriously though.. yes he had a long time prior, but what I meant was if you wait that long to stop you won't have a chance. That ain't even 5 feet. Then it's hilly as hell over that way. That little stretch, a driver better be on his game or if could he devastating.

 

LOL, these rear end crashes are out of hand. A horrible way for innocent people to die.

Honestly the only way IMO to get these wrecks under control is to block out internet/phone service from ANY vehicle while moving unless it's to call 911... That's the only way.....

 

It is a rough way for someone to leave this earth. They'll probably make drivers put devices in airplane mode or some ####. These types of things are what creates those dreaded regs. ATA gets more fire power every time CDL Life or whatever news source releases something like this.

 

Exactly what I was going to say. I ease thru there constantly and get my doors blown off also. And the on ramp merge as you’re going down the hill and these folks fly down that hill before the curve and that bridge. I just don’t see how if something happens, like in the news article, they think they are going to be able to stop. I know what I can and cannot do it’s the other people driving around me that’s the unknown factor. I back out of it and let ‘em go. I just ain’t in that big a hurry to go sit at a dock for 7 hours! And on top of that the Government takes enough of my money I ain’t trying to give ‘em no extra. #### shame about the couple being killed. Just no reason for it.
