I just saw an ad for a fuel tanker gig in Portland that required 3 years experience and paid $33/hour. That’s some good money.

I’m not trying to “recruit,” I’m simply sharing a good gig with my fellow drivers. I get nothing out of it. We’ve an opening for a DEF driver out of Centralia, WA. It’s a sleeper cab. From what I was told today, you can experience run 70 hrs/week. $25/hr with O/T after 40 hrs. That’s some pretty serious coin. Not to mention the benefits and such. This is a really good gig.

I feel your pain. My application been under review for over a month. I've text and called the recruiter at least 3 times a week with no reply .

I was contacted awhile back. But now as usual, the housing/apartment shortages where I'm looking are keeping me from taking the positions listed. They seem to have plenty of driver openings in the Northeast and Southeast. But as a life-long desert/mountain person, I'm going to stay away from those spots.

Mine was the same way. After an initial callback from one of the recruiters I heard nothing for the next couple of months. But after several follow-up attempts, I finally was told the position I applied for had been filled.

    The LPG tankers?

They haul 3rd part loads in MS, and LA. With some loads going to TX here and there. My former coworker told me they got rid of it when they let the crude go. But after seeing 2 of there trucks in LA the same day. I sent him pics and said they are still around.

He started asking questions and found out they are still in MS and LA. But they are a smaller division than they were. Witch was still small. They got rid of the RM that was over that division when I was there. Witch was a good thing. The guy is a real piece of crap.

However that dept never really had alot of work. Between the old RM and the ppl in okc they didn't know how to get or keep LPG going. There was alot of inexperienced ppl in this field. Especially in okc. So I quit and found better work elsewhere.

The sleeper trucks are hauling diesel from Alabama to various stores around the Charlotte area. This is due to a shortage of diesel on the east coast. No problem with drivers in the Carolinas. Can’t say for the rest of the country.

Seems like a sweet, somewhat-OTR/regional gig to go for. Yeah, it's sleeper. But at least you know where you're going each night and have a guaranteed spot to shut it down.
