I do the 50 and I also make my shift easy by starting at say 7 am and be parked by 7 pm or so....a 12 hour day of driving and such is plenty for the loads I run...I rarely run my 11 or 14 down past the 1 hour mark......

They’re not held accountable because it’s not their job. Refuse the load, or load it and update the ETA. Do everything in writing. Dispatch and planners don’t drive the trucks, and as you’ve discovered there are ways of reporting the companies that treated you poorly. High speed runs aren’t doable in the east and it’s up to the driver to say it can’t be done.

Agree. But what gives them the right to issue that load?

Look at some trucking accidents. There was a dispatcher behind every trip.

Nope, being safe is more important than some idiot in dispatch not understanding what it really takes to get a load delivered...it may be at the appointment time it may not be , I don't sweat it and i communicate any delays and update my ETAs, nothing else is required of me.......I do my best and i am a safe driver.....

It’s up to the driver to have a backbone and say no, it can’t be done with the given appointments. You want to act like the driver is meek and helpless and at the mercy of some dispatcher. Last time I checked there are companies hiring drivers all over the country.

I agree, new drivers don't know how to say "NO I CANT DO THAT LOAD SAFELY AND LEGALLY....." if more learned how to say no we wouldn't have the pileups in Pennsylvania every winter......

So you do communicate, maintain efficiency....and run the load. What was the nope for?

Not only that. They give impossible load times plus threaten a drivers job if not accepting the load.

    That's unreasonable.

I disagree that the problem is always on the driver, if he had issues perhaps it was at a company that ran their drivers like robots instead of all the driver to use his judgment......unless the OP didn't tell the whole story ...
