Thanks 379cat. I thought you only had the rough idle with the 59's. I guess I would upgrade to stage 5 since its not much more to upgrade. thanks for the good info. I will definetly consider your suggestion.

im not tryin to start an argument... sure they might might flow 30% more than a 58 but, in my opinion on a mostly stock engine they will pour black smoke, and egts will climb like crazy..... driving with your eyes glued to the pyro sucks..... I'm also not tryin to tell anyone what to do with their truck, just tryin to give some food for thought... I personally have put 59s in for others only to take them back out because of aformentioned problems... those guys usually said the same thing "i didnt think it would smoke like that" ..... i have seen the dyno difference on a similar engine as the one that started this thread... had 58s pulled off dyno cooled off 59s in, back on dyno.... power diff wasnt that great (for all that smoke) but definitly not 30% more hp because 30% more fuel, not that anyone said that they would be =.... like i said , not tryin to offend anyone, just givin my opinion, If your lookin for max power , sure go 59, but for a nice upgrade that wont get get ya noticed by every swingin d- dot man go with 58s.... i think we are all sayin similar things... as for the enigine that started this off, i wouldnt think the inj would be the cause for the low boost high egts , ecm possible but id lean towards a turbo issue of some sort.... I'm certinly no expert and there are others on here that are way smarter than me, dds , mr h. , ect. ect...that could give ya better advice on how to find your problem.... but stickin 58s or 59s in first wont help the issue .. in my opin........im out

Thanks for the great info. I agree on fixing the problem first so I don't melt her down.

Thanks for the great info sulltran. when I priced the 59's they told me that the core category was the same as the 57's. well I don't know what the core charge is in price, but as a six pack it was 500 dollars more to upgrade to the 59's. I didn't check on the 58's but if its free to upgrade and the power is good I will consider going with the 58's.

I would like to thank everyone for the really good feedback. I couple of things i would like to add next would be 800 horse power cam, 3406B monifold, custom tuned EMC, and upgrade to stage 5 turbo. I really like 550's set up with the good power and fuel milage.

Thanks coal bucket for your opinion. It's really good info and I agree with you. But since the low boost i've already put new air to air, couplers and turbo. Still no change. There is no fluids where there is not suppose to be and every once In a while there is a light miss. I will try to go thru everything again before I make my next move.

High EGTs and low boost is a sign of a lack of air flow through the engine, maybe and intake pipe or air filter sucking in, could also be a collapsed muffler or something else blocking the exhaust system.

    Izzyloco Thanks this.

Just checking, i saw that you checked the cold side of turbo but had not checked the exhaust yet.... you may have but just not posted it.... i have seen more than 1 turbo missing some fins on either side but still make some boost......

    i second that.

good things to check, JAS i sure youve seen low boost high pyro many times before being a pro wrench..

I have a 6NZ C15 set at 475hp. Seems like the ECM and changing injectors are about the same price. Could i run 58s or do you have to do a turbo upgrade?
