Hello folks. I am pondering whether or not to run in California. Traffic, low speed limits, crazy lefties, trucker un-friendly, crime, and oh, did I mention traffic? But let's face it, sometimes going there is a necessary evil because there is a lot of freight coming from and going there.

But I am getting conflicting information, even from DMV people, about whether I can run there or not. My truck is a 2009 Columbia with the Series 60. I know this truck can't be registered there, but is it okay to run there? I am 90% sure that I CAN, but will it open up a can of worms down the line?

    Thanks.

I just saw today they may no longer go into the ports with 2007-2009 but no restrictions otherwise for a 2009 that I know of.

I run around California all the time. I don't have any problems. The speed limit thing is kind of a pain. But, not insufferable.
I can't say about whether your 2009 will have any California issues. But, as far as running around there, I don't really find it significantly different than anywhere else.

Really? Just those 3 years? That's kind of strange. Why not just say you can't go into the ports with anything older than a 2009?

2009 doesn't qualify, but quite a few still run it. Why not just go to CARB and look at the rules?

There are only two good things about trucking in California. The parking options while traveling through the state and taco trucks.

I don't know anyone actually follows the speed limits. I run 59 and constantly being passed and rarely ever run up on anyone.
