And will further that by saying by saying that the ooida tour truck is at the petro in New paris Ohio now and I had some time to converse with Marty the new representative/driver today since John retired .
I posed the ? To him about all these accidents and awful truck drivers these days ?
And where are these idiots getting insurance?

 

Well my month long 2 settlement period experiment with doing omaha to Columbus Ohio and a short run to like carthage mo is drawing to a close , after I take out tolls I'm making just as much doing this as I was running the northeast and don't work any harder .
Been home every weekend too .
No philladelphia, no jersey , no Chicago twice a week .
Lots of fond memories there but I think the northeast and I are done .

 

The first 2 years I was here I did almost nothing but Columbus Nebraska to long Beach cal and produce back to Chicago, then Miller brewing to omaha so been there done that , and then there is tune up that California would frown on too ...im ok doing what I am , things have changed and want to be home more .

 

Boy did I get an earful from my dispatcher this morning!
We got drivers around here that been with the company 8 to 10 years driving new trucks that run the lanes and loads they choose making up to 74 cpm ...Quiting ! ...without notice cause another carrier offered them a penny more a mile .
That accident that we were involved in at Avoca iowa a couple weeks that I described as being not our drivers fault was total BS and our driver lied his arse off ...it was our fault.
Another long term driver threatened to shoot a couple dispatchers but instead abandoned his new truck at a Oklahoma truckstop and now lives in a homeless camp behind the same truckstop .
That was the tip of the iceberg.
Insanity these days and to think I started in 1987 at 18 cpm driving junk on 4 hours sleep a night .
The good news is another Morehouse driver recently celebrated 33 years of service .
