FCC has treated me very good. I make good money and get good home time.
The company keeps its trucks and trailers in an incredible outstanding maintenance system and the planners are always keeping me moving. Great company!
In the personal side of life Health wise I don’t feel that great. I’m not that young puppy I was years ago. Lol
I keep in touch with “Redtwin” his driving for Indian River… (Tankers) and his doing very good also.
Thanks for asking.
If I remember correctly you have about 7 to 8 years with Abilene already correct?
That’s a great achievement!MidWest_MacDaddy, runningman0661, dwells40 and 2 others Thank this. -
Glad to hear you're doing well at FCC, hope the health issues aren't too burdensome.dwells40, Silverdriver, Lonesome and 1 other person Thank this. -
Took a 34. Back out on the road this morning. Pick up a load off the Richmond yard, take it to the Wytheville yard.
On the way there, stop at White's for breakfast and a shower. Get back in the truck, got a pre-plan waiting for me. Pick up a trailer off the Wytheville yard, take it to the Pepsi plant around the corner from Boar's Head Groveport.
About an hour after dropping and hooking at Wytheville, I get another pre-plan. Pick up a load at Boar's Head, take it to Pensacola, FL and then to Daphne, AL. Will arrive at the receiver Monday morning.
It's due Wednesday morning.
So after taking a 34, I will drive 2 days and change and will then take another 34.
Already told my DM I'll be putting in for layover.Lonesome, RebelChick and dwells40 Thank this. -
Picked up my Boar's Head load this morning. Inspection sticker on the trailer expired last month. Needs a new marker light above the door. Needs a new mudflap. Called Breakdown, was sent to the TA in Jeffersonville to get the inspection and repairs taken care of.
Load assignment said it was a two-stopper, but BH only gave me one set of paperwork. Said that it was just one load on the trailer. Once I got to Jeffersonville, I called the load planner in Wytheville to let 'em know. And while I had 'em on the phone, I explained how this load had 48 extra hours on it and I'd just come off a 34.
So now I'm dropping this load off in Wytheville as soon as the Jeffersonville TA gets done inspecting and repairing the trailer, and picking up another load heading to Mableton, GA instead. Due Tuesday morning instead of Wednesday.JustCallMeDriver, dwells40, Lonesome and 1 other person Thank this. -
Quite the fire I had to put out. Reset was over 1500 Friday. Ran into Walnut with no issues and dropped my trailer. Bobtailed to Colton and took my 10. The plan and the fire was as follows. Hook a loaded trailer at the drop yard and live unload it Saturday at 3pm at Amazon less than a mile from the yard. My load going back to Findlay Ohio was ready in Santa Fe Springs. I decided to go in and get my load Saturday morning, then go and deliver the Amazon. Having coffee at 0600, my phone rings. It’s dispatch. I’m told that there’s a problem. I nicely let him know that I have zero problems and that he’s the one with the problems. He tells me that they have to give my load away to a team because their load fell through. At this point I politely ask him what in the hell are they going to do with me on a Saturday on Memorial weekend. He tells me that I need to go in and pick up the load that was taken from me and get it for the team. I went out of my mind. You screw me out of a load to give to a team and you want me to go get it? Absolutely not. I hung up on him and went out to walk around. 20 minutes later the phone rings and it’s dispatch telling me they’re working on something. I inform him that by noon time if I’m not assigned a load, that I’ll be flying home from Ontario, and that I’ll come back when they have a load for me the end of next week.
And hour later they call me again. There’s no freight down here. They have decided, after I deliver the fire, to bobtail 352 miles to St George Utah and grab an empty reefer, then deadhead back to the Colton yard and drop it. Not just that one time. But 3 times. A total of 2100 miles. Half bobtail, half empty. I’ll be done Tuesday night with this. I figure between the fuel and my pay, it’s costing this company about 3 grand. I have zero problems with it. They get paid to plan, I drive. I’m so disgusted with these people it’s unreal.MidWest_MacDaddy, JoeyJunk, Silverdriver and 10 others Thank this.
