Parker’s is the ONLY BBQ!!! I love BBQ, but it sure doesn’t like me. The list of foods I can no longer enjoy grows by the day. First, it was steak (I cried real tears!). Then it was salad. Upsetting, but not as bad as the first thing! And now I can add pork. Ugh! Goodbye BBQ, bacon, sausage, pork chops…. I’m down to chicken and seafood-not fried, of course. It sucks to get old!!!!

Ended up dropping my Amazon load in WM yard and a local going to deliver it tonight. They had a Reno on me but took it off and gave me a Knight load to Phoenix going to Hydro Fab. Was more pressing. Supposed to deliver tomorrow but Ill get it there Saturday cuz my truck isn't rocket powered, lol! Works out better than Reno cuz it will give me 2600 miles for the week verses only 1100. East 40 was shutdown around Hazen due to three separate accidents involving 7 trucks in a span of about 5 miles. Driving too fast and up each other's behinds in pouring rain and stomping on the brakes....

Delivered to Gordonsville this morning. An actual live unload there, which is unusual. Was told that, in the future, I can ask 'em to switch it to a drop-and-hook and they'll probably say "Sure" since 98% of our traffic there is drop-and-hook anyways.

And now I, too, am sitting at home for the weekend.

You have no idea what "old" means. You just wait! I can still do about everything as I did years ago, it just takes a little longer to "recover". LOL Best 9 years of my life were spent right there in Norfolk, From 1963 to 1972. Used to go to a BBQ place down in Deep Creek, forget the name.

At least that US hwy directly to the south of 40 is easy driving.

My girlfriend lived right outside of Greenville in Ayden. There is a local place called Bums. Great Carolina BBQ. Good sides too. I miss that place.

When you leave Eastern North Carolina, you leave BBQ country. That $&ht y'all call BBQ out there in the west ain't nothing more than cooked beef with BBQ sauce poured over it.

Wait a minute, on 2nd thought. In Lexington, NC there is Lexington BBQ, excellent, super BBQ. They know how to do a hog.

Are you getting frequent / raging heartburn and acid reflux? I told my Dr about my issues with this for certain foods and eating Tums as if they were M&M's and he said he could prescribe what he called an H2 blocker. I take 20MG Famotidine twice a day and have reached for an OTC antacid only twice since January. Made a BIG difference in tolerating some favorite foods. You might bring the topic up next time you see your physician.
