Sure you can. Just look at how a certain Illinois resident acquired a certain gun. Some noise was made about prosecuting the individual responsible, but that's about it.

And I would love to enforce the laws that are on the books right now.

The review of more than 2,000 gun dealers showed many had flouted federal laws, selling weapons to convicted felons and domestic abusers, lying to inspectors and falsifying ledgers to hide their misconduct.
Gun dealers let off hook when ATF inspections find violations
I would love for the Dodge County, WI sherif and DA to arrest and charge a certain previously named car dealership for being an unlicensed gun dealer, but that's not going to happen.

once again we need to start enforcing the laws on the books and at the same time work on social issues causing the mental health breakdown.

We can also start by doing mandatory minimums in lots of places where you break the current laws on the books.

because the issue is once you take away guns, you’ll have what Europe has.

“Most violence is caused by people hitting, kicking, shoving or slapping someone, sometimes during a fight and often when they're drunk; the police figures on violence also include crimes of harassment and stalking.

The Crime Survey for England and Wales, which includes offences that aren't reported to police, indicates that overall levels of violence have fallen by about a quarter since 2013.

However, the police-recorded statistics - which tend to pick up more "high harm" crimes - have indicated that the most serious violent crime is increasing.

That last paragraph I think contradicts the first one in the quote.

Ten charts on the rise of knife crime in England and Wales

Simply put replacing the weapon solves not one #### thing.

    Two final thoughts:

We agree on enforcing the law, but everytime a DA tries to hold a gun dealer accountable for breaking the law, the NRA and 2nd amendment fanatics accuse them of wanting to ban guns. Just look at the public comments on the westforth sports lawsuit. Or look at all the road blocks in place to stop police from bring able to trace a gun.

Second is I would rather deal with someone armed with a knife than a gun. Better odds of surviving an attack and almost no chance of being accidently stabbed when a toddler reaches in mommy's purse and grabs her dirk.

When a terrorist went on a knife rampage in London, three terrorists killed 5 people and wounded 40. One person with an ar15 killed 21 and wounded 17.

How often does that happen? Often enough to remove the unalienable rights from 330,000,000 people?

We have less than 500 people per year die from rifles. Taking AR-15's is dumb AF. The vast majority of "gun violence" is from suicide. The rest is from gangs. 90% of it is caused by hand guns. Let me know when DC is ready to change things, and not just using buzzwords from the latest news headline to get reelected.

So would you rather face a knife or an ar15?

And averaging more than 2 mass shootings per day for 2021 is insane.

I'm different than you. Regardless of which one I die by, my death won't attribute to stripping rights from Americans.

But for fun, what's my chances of dying not only by rifle, but by AR-15 in particular? You don't have to answer that. Just look it up, and tell me if it's a big number on a per capita basis. That number is something you can moll over. (mull?)

No, that's not the question. If it was, then knife boy would start carrying a gun, so you start wearing a vest, etc etc etc.

Would you rather face someone armed with a knife or a gun - regardless of your own armament.

What you're forgetting is if we ban guns, all violence will stop, criminals will start obeying laws, gas prices will go down, voter fraud will cease to exist, cancer will be cured, and so on........all from just banning guns.

Did I mention if we ban them, the 400,000,000 in America will just up and disappear, never to be replaced??
