So im a new CDL, I did things backwards (im a idiot), I got my license and now im applying for the endorsement. I did the ELDT class and I went to get my fingerprints taken and paid the 86.50.

I go to check my status on the DOT site and it says,

    "ELIGIBILITY DETERMINED

TSA sent official notification of your Hazardous Materials Endorsement eligibility to your state of license. Please check with your State Drivers Licensing Agency on your Commercial Driver's License and HME issuance process and status. TSA does not send or issue approval letters.
NOTE: The card holder must be present at the time of payment.
    Status as of 06/08/2022."

When I google how long it takes for the Hazmat background it said 30-45 days for background to be complete. Am I missing something? Do I continue to wait or can I go pay the fee at the DMV and start cramming for the "written test."

    thanks for the help

Like it says , TSA has notified CA that you been cleared , you can call TSA to double check - there number is on website , but you should be good .
Also remember , you'll only be getting a permit if you don't have a cdl yet and you'll have to go to a certified school for the handsome training

You're good to go, just double check at your state DMV. Go online and study all of the free hazmat tests you can, including the ones on this website. Once you master those, you will be ready to pass the test.

thank you. Ive had my Cdl for a month. I screwed up and should have taken care of all the endorsements prior to taking my Cdl test at the DMV.

I’m in TN & as long as you’ve fingerprinted, taken Hazmat course online & it was forwarded to DMV, when you get to the DMV & they’ve had 24-48 hours to receive the Hazmat Certificate; it doesn’t matter if you’ve been “approved” - you can still go to the DMV & take your test. I’d try this first before waiting for DHS.
