Set up irrigation timers. I've got all my plants set up on various schedules. I'll make it home at least once a month to put some fertilizer around the trees. Not much you can do about pests in some areas, though. You could even set up a hydroponics system indoors that pretty much runs itself once you get the lights on a timer and an aquarium stone to circulate the nutrients. The hardest part of that is propagating plants in a sterile medium so they can transplant into net pots. Once you sprout them, or if you take cuttings and they start to root, it's pretty much set it and forget it.

I used to root clones right in my aquarium. Poked a hole in a piece of styrofoam, pushed the cutting through it and let it float around until the roots were big enough to survive the transfer to a container. Just kept goldfish and algae eaters with a full spectrum fluorescent bulb on 24/7.

I have 10 tomato plants out in pots on my deck. We have heavy adobe clay soil here and it's useless for gardening, and we've had great luck with many veggies over the years in containers. Been a tough spring for them here on the west coast. We had a cold snap about 4 weeks ago that resulted in our last frost, then some 100 degree days and cool nights that caused blossom drop. I think they're finally on trac now and seem to be doing great. Can't wait for the first ones to ripen up. So much better than the store bought ones.

Looking forward to the mild climate of the Oregon coast in the near future and plants thriving in the ground. I'm even going to have a greenhouse.

    Still doing well @SteveScott

I was thinking about you as well the other day, wondering how it was going.

Things are no doubt very poor but so far haven’t been too highly affected. That, could change at any time of course therefore operating as if already been affected. My guess is you would be saying something very similar if still in the game.

Don’t be a stranger, and if I ever make it out your way I’ll give a shout. I’d love to buy you lunch one day. Take care.

Here we go again. Lol. I’m assuming this guy would also be ok with someone setting a threshold on how much he can make over his operating expenses.

That would be great if you get out this way. I have the perfect place to park your rig and get a great meal.

What video is this? I'm a little bored right now waiting for my delivery appointment to come closer, would be nicer to get a bucket of popcorn and see what's going on in that little comments section haha :happy1:

I don’t remember which one it was. It just amazes me how fast people turn when rates drop and want to blame others for their problems.

Strung this together last week. 4072 miles. MN to MD, PA to WI, and WI to ID. Unloaded and reloaded in the same dock coming back to MN after that. Had a nice 34 in Montana on the way back before the flooding started. I’m planning to keep running here as long as my revenue to my truck can stay around $2.20 and I can keep my fuel in the mid 60’s. That keeps it pretty comfortable for me with no trailer expenses or anything.

What kind of fuel milage are you getting now? Tires should all be broke in now and how many miles you have on the truck now? Not a bad week plus.

    D.Tibbitt Thanks this.
