To be fair it was likely a steer and there really isn't much to pretrip on them. Is it flat? Are the treads there? That's about all.

For a minute thought that might have been about me. Saturday I was on I-84 near Caldwell Idaho and had a trailer tire blowout. A retread decided it didn't want to be anymore. Left behind a road alligator. Fortunately, I was only a couple miles from the Flying J there and was planning on stopping there for the day anyway. I pulled over right away, checked and no other noticeable damage, so instead of staying on the emergency shoulder, I limped it the remaing 3 or 4 miles to the truck stop.
Odd thing is, this is only the 2nd blow out I've had. The ones where you hear and feel the tire blow. However, my other incident like this was about 2 years ago and within one mile of the same place, even the same side of the road, as this blow out happened. Heck of a coincidence. But do believe it's just a coincidence. I have driven the stretch many times without incident.baha Thanks this. -

MP40 on 84 is on a downhill sharp curve that gets drivers by surprise. Gotta slow down there, lots of wrecks happens there.
