    Ok, the pump and injectors are at the shop. I went over with the guy what I’m trying to do, as far as the 290 CPL 217 build, to a 350 CPL 160 and a timing up grade from -.50 to -.35. He was familiar with what I was talking about and he had a CPL manual as well. I asked him if I could safely go 10% more than 350hp, he said “10-15% more would be fine”. It currently has a #22 button in the pump. What do you guys think?

    One more thing can I or should I reuse the exhaust, intake and injector push tubes? They all look good.

    Use a small hammer and give each push tube a light tap. It should make a ringing sound they should all sound the same. If any make a dull thud they are full of oil and one of the ends is loose or they are cracked. If they pass the ringing test use them over again.

    If it’s setup properly you should not have any issue. But still pay attention to your gauges.

    My engine is built to CPL 625 (400) horse, but the pump is set to X 100%. Plus other little modifications, but the key is watching those gauges….!

    He stated that, “a 17 or 15 button would probably be sufficient”.

    So install a different button and build injectors to stock specs of the CPL 160….?

    If you are going with CPL 160 injectors and pistons I would recommend timing it at .041"
