I purchased a STEPDECK conestoga from auction. I havent a clue how to open her up. I think I figured out the rear part. Im struggling with the front. The trailer is a 2012. I say that cause I dont know if there are different systems or whatever. On the front corners, there is binder type thing on both sides. Im at a loss here. I dont plan on pulling it anytime soon as my RGN work is keeping me pretty busy! And I want to get it painted but, I need to know how to open it first. Ill take some pictures in the morning......

Yeah. They are just little thumb screws that push on the rail. If they haven’t been used they may be frozen with rust. That’s good place for some anti-seize.

A guy I know told me about something called flashtape? I seen it at Lowes. The company I hired to bring it called me after 2 days of running from North Dakota(where I bought it from) it’s developed this rip. The local shop here is backed up like 3 months. Although I don’t plan on pulling it I don’t want it sitting at a shop. Or do I repair it like I would one of my tarps for my Rgn? With glue and vinyl?

And those things that are suppose to stop it from railing aint working. They are like a turn dial and there are 4 of them, 1 at each corner(front 2 are at the step, not the very front). I am kinda parked at an angle uphill so pushing it from the rear to the front was challenging, those systems are heavier than they appear. I greased a zero fitting at the rear, where I turn it to lock/unlock it. I dont have a long pole to move the flap to the top of the trailer. So, I suppose I can buy one from a trailer shop that works one conestoga systems. Anyone tell me the name of the pole????

My first task it if I can repair that rip to do that, then one weekend replace the brakes/drums/slack adjuster/ and probably the S cams. They are ok on here now but, whenever I buy a used trailer thats the 1st thing I do. Second task is to get it painted.
