He went to work recently driving for a carrier out of Dubuque..... This week, (after everyone had gone home who could explain what happened over the holiday weekend), his check has several deductions for "ADV Fuel'. His net is $59. He is understandably freaking RIGHT OUT of his mind.

Can someone tell me what that might be and WHY a 2000K mile week netted him $59 as a company driver?
Hopeful I can discover this is yet another paperwork snafu from these folks.

Yeah, he tried that of course... everyone cleared out for the weekend.. not even DM is answering.
and no.. I'm not asking why he got $59, I'm asking if anyone recognizes what "ADV Fuel" is or might be. I can't think of any reasonable scenario where a Co driver, using the Co card, at Co approved fuel stops would have anything related to fuel sucked out of his paycheck at such a rate.

'ADV Fuel' sounds like he got cash advances for fuel.
If the receipts were not submitted in time it would have come out of his paycheck.
If that is the case, and he did submit them, that money would be in his next paycheck.

    That is only my guess...

Thanks Moose, Since he got into that truck, he has only used the fuel card. As I stated before at approved fuel vendors. There have been several other 'right hand... meet left hand here' paperwork and Admin screw ups and failures of communication, and I strongly suspect this is another one. However, I'm not the one sitting in a bunk in a truck stop on 35 wondering what the #### he got himself into and worrying he ain't bringing it for his fam.

You posted that right before I posted mine, so point taken.
As is, what has he gotten himself into?

Is it a smaller company that might be a bit shady?

Could that be a cash advance he took while fueling?

Is he a Lease driver or a Company Driver? But ADV fuel is prob a Advanced at the fuel pump aka some companys have it you can get $75 a day... Once you start going down that rabbit hole you will never get out of it.

no... not so small. I have noted many instances of 'failure to communicate' and some really silly waste of time stuff, but this... wow. Esp. with the cricket noises on the comms. Most of these have been along the lines of sending a message to 'the truck' when he was with his 'mentor' driver for a couple weeks (meaning it texted in to BOTH phones associated with the unit).. "Your Medical card has been flagged and denied, you need to get that taken care of now or you can't drive for us!!'.. Turns out it was for the mentor.. health, apnea and weight issues... but for a guy who is having to jump through all this 'training wheels' hoops junk BECAUSE the post card about 'time to renew your medical card' didn't come from the DMV and they lapsed his CDL on him was alarming and hard to take.
I'm hoping its more oblivion and the right hand not knowing what the left is doing half the time that makes them seem ridiculous, but right now I'm mostly concerned about the half in the bunk stroking out about something that just HAS to be another screw up.

No, man is tight as the bark on a tree... He wouldn't do that. I can't hardly convince him to get out of the truck every few days and go in and get a subway.
