I want to go on record for saying I've never picked on swift. But I have laughed at some of the swift jokes. The following storey is true.

I have my sister's oldest with me for a couple weeks. So I left the porta potty at the house. While inside of the rest area doing business maybe 20 mins.

I have met this 17 year old maybe 5/6 times in my life so conversation doesn't exactly flow smooth. When I come out side he said " I just watched a trucker try to back into spot maybe
15 or 20 times, I guess they gave up because they speed away"
I said yeah buddy. New drivers are hard on themselves and he may have felt like he was holding other drivers up.
8 or 10 mins of silence goes by, so I finally asked did you happen to catch the name of the company. A clear as day he says "swift."
I couldn't help but laugh this kid has been in the truck 39 hours and already has his first swift joke.

make sure he gets to see, Werner, CRST, Central Refrigerated, FedEx, and then ask him what he thinks about all of it.

I'm a Swiftie myself. But, I get it with the Swiftie jokes for the most part. Only thing I don't like about it is that some of us can drive, maneuver our rig and not hit crap. All the Swiftie stuff tends to make people assume that all Swift drivers haven't a clue.
When I started with Swift, I was aware of the reputation. Regardless, for personal reasons, I chose them to get my start. I had planned I'd only stay there for the first year or two. But, I ended up finding a home here. It's just when I evaluate all the pros and cons to my specific situation, I always end up with the conclusion that I don't want to change anything. I'm happy driving for Swift, running reefer freight and being an OTR driver in the Western States. The fact that it is also where I started is great, but a coincidence.

I keep my eye on every Swift trailer I come up on, when I see that the tractor is a private owned, all is normal again.

Same wth FedEx. Hell, just yesterday two of them said screw the towman on the shoulder, they both stayed in the #2 lane, both had doubles weaving all over, neither had vehicles to their left.
