Looking to Start Fresh

CMV applications require a ten year employment history.

With carriers being so hungry for drivers, your past won't matter much.

 

All companies will show up.
You'll have to apply with 'second chance' companies.
Where is your location?
How much experience do you have?

 

You can be dishonest about your actual history.
But if they find out after you start working for them, you may have a rude awakening when you are left stranded hundreds of miles from home.

We all know about social media these days, and how many companies check up on employees' use of it.
Even if they don't find it through other means, what if they come across this thread and link it to the OP - who just asked the question "if I don't tell my next company...".

And I have to wonder about the OP.
5 jobs that did not work out, and wanting to conceal them.
It might be a bad choice of companies, or it might be that this person should not be driving a truck.

Were all 5 companies the same type of driving?. Meaning were they all local or OTR etc?. You may be trying to work in a segment of trucking that you are unsuitable for.

Unfortunately it may be a case of not not being what you want to do but more of what you are capable of doing. Some drivers just can't hack living in a truck doing OTR, doesn't make them less of a driver and other drivers can't deal with traffic etc of local driving.

Also, you don't mention what type of CDL you have. Maybe start off smaller with a straight truck if handling a Class A is possibly the issue.

 

My wife and I tried ltl. Her trainer had her so nervous she said no more after the first week. Once she explained what happened I totally understood her needing to walk away. But five in a row will be hard to explain.

Why did you leave each company?
You will most definitely be asked this question.
Think carefully on this. Write the answers down and keep the answers short and to the point. No hateful comments about the past companies whatsoever and everything needs to be truthful.
Now have someone read them and then ask that person, "Based off of these answers would you hire me if you didn't know me?"

Once you have the answers worked out memorize them so when asked you can quickly and smoothly answer.

Like what has already been said, there are companies that are desperate for drivers all you need to do is calm their fears that you'll up and quit on them and waste their time and money training you.
