I'm guessing you changed fuel filter? Might need a overhead on it if it's been awhile.

We keep getting more and more snow here in PA, its 9*F here too. I saw in a local paper a 1979 KW w900, w/ wet-line, day cab, detroit 8v92, 2k obo. I figure it's one of the local farmers trying to offload an old truck. I wish I had the cash to pick it up as a toy, I've always had some kinda toy (mostly mustangs, and some fast little foreign junk). I hear those old 2 stroke v8 detroit's are rated at 475hp.

Saw a freightliner classic with a full height sleeper on it with $6400 painted on the windshield today. Wonder what a daycab is going for now.

With truck prices so low, it's a wonder some company drivers don't just buy a truck and put it in their garage until freight picks back up? Say once spring comes and I get to work, prices for trucks are still down low like this, I may very well buy a truck and garage it a few years while working in the mean time.

Wheathauler yep we changed the fuel filter a couple of weeks ago. Overhead prolly a good idea. Boss is looking at trucks. He knows those Mercedes Detroits are gonna cost a fortune to work on cuz we done been down that road once with computer troubles. FL in Jboro told them all they could do was swap motors and a series 60 would be goin back in. We had Jake troubles too. One of my ex codrivers loved to listen to the thang and left it on bout all the time. I think it cost 3300$ to replace those intake port doohickeys. Boss made it clear using the Jake now is a NONO. Other than Bono hill around here I don't know where you'd need one anyway. We don't run the hills. One of the neighbors went to a truck sale yesterday in Mempho I think. Came back telling the boss he saw 2 X 04 Pete daycabs with bout 600K and in nice looking shape bring $18000. That may intensify the search. Just bought a brand new Trachoe so heck why not. Iced over here this AM.

I haven't heard anything good on those Mercedes engines...especially if they have to be worked on. We have had about 4-5 inches of snow so far

Probably pay more for a daycab, fewer of them around. Truckpaper lists 23,155 sleepers and only 10,729 daycabs.

Prices have flipped then. Makes sense, I've been suspecting there's money to be made shuffling stuff around local.
