At the start of Covid in 2019, i was a doordash driver for 7 months. Covid picked up and a lot of places were locked down or shut down, killing my earnings. I then had to apply for unemployment and got one full year of paid unemployment as i covered bills and needs, waiting for the jobs to pick back up. At the start of 2022, my disabled sister was having adverse reactions to the covid vaccine and the family knowing i was unemployed, insisted i move in to help take care of her. I've done this 7 months, and her issues seem to have been tamed enough for her husband to handle most of the legwork involved in keeping her healthy and happy.

    I have a 1099 for Doordash proving i worked those 7 months
I have a 1099 from unemployment proving i was receiving unemployment compensation.
I have a notarized document from my family and sister stating that i've spent 7 months as an unpaid caregiver to for my sister.

I've called WIlson, Stevens, Roehl, Prime, and all have turned me down due to being underqualified. I asked if there was any way around this, and was constantly told "Find another job and apply again later" Which, i cannot do. I live 40 miles from the nearest hiring job and have no means of transportation to said job. How am i supposed to get into a CDL school as sombody with 1099's?

It's better to submit the online application vs a phone call. Actually submitting an application shows you do have some interest and initiative.

One step at a time. If you can't get a carrier to train you then you should see if you can find a trade school close by that has a CDL program. Once you get that CDL your job chances will greatly improve. There are 2 downsides to going this way. First, you might have a long commute and you won't be making any money!

Thank you, but i've applied online before any calls were made. I applied during my last posts about a week ago, and after receiving no calls, decided to make the calls and check on my applications. All of them denied me due to lack of work history.

I'm sure i will, but i really don't know if i'll get accepted into a school at this rate, and if i have to spend 6 months at a totally random job, i may as well keep it.

Thanks for this, you mentioned this in my last post but i can't seem to understand how to apply, just a bunch of state guidelines and PDF's of information irrelevant to me as a person wanting to apply.

Google your state name + WIOA + CDL
There are also other ways to get money for CDL school Money for CDL Training
You are going to need transportation to CDL school or the trucking company that hires you.
Also, some Goodwills will pay for your CDL.
You may want to attend a church of your choice and ask about any beater cars someone is looking to get rid of.

What city/state do you live in? I used the WIOA to pay for my schooling, so I might be able to help you

Indiana. Just finished talking to support chat who will send me a call in the future.

Is there no CDL school that will take people with 1099's?
