I've never heard of anyone getting a ticket for doing 60 in an 80.

My Volvo came from the factory with that neutral on downhills ON.
I deactivated from the start for safety reasons, wear and tear on the clutch and the low oil pressure
I noticed at 600 RPM with a T6 Shell Rotella full synthetic oil.
T6 is extremely fluid when hot and the oil pressure goes too low at idle.
After deactivation the oil pressure stayed at or above 30 PSI.
It avoids camshaft premature wear also known as 'Camshaft Oil Starvation'.
It's a known issue with Volvo engines.

Or cause a crash while driving 60 in an 80.
I get it. 20 mph gap is dangerous.
Do you think driving 35 in a 55 is safe?

I wonder if the geniuses in gooberment have looked at any statistics regarding truck safety during that time. I mean, the media made truck drivers and nurses out to be heros or whatever, but..

So during the lockdowns, did truck drivers suddenly become safer, having far fewer accidents based on miles traveled? I mean, I hear drivers bemoaning the four wheelers a lot, so if we take them out of the equation, that should tell the true tale of whether we really need all the babysitting.

Maybe I'm all wrong on this theory

I have not been out East in the last 8 years,
    To keep my sanity intact.
Just AB to CA/AZ and back.
    Boring but I'm still sane.
    Allegedly.

Doubt I'll ever see California or their jail cells at scales.
I did say that jokingly to a Maryland state trooper years ago. He chuckled a bit and took it in stride

That’s doubtful unless you’re not in the right lane.

CA state troopers have no sense of humor. Whatsoever.
But you can try that line anytime.
    Don't let me stop you.
    Please go fot it.
And report back to this Forum afterwards.
You may be a Hero, after all.
    Good luck.
