Fast-forward 6 months, and the industry crashed. The efficiency numbers came into play as to who would stay working and who would be called off for the shift every night. My numbers weren't the best, as I had a lot of "shop time." The manager went to the shop manager to inquire about those with a lot of shop time to see if they were padding or if legit, and mine was 100% legit OOS issues or regen issues. Needless to say, I not only got to keep working, but I got promoted to the next higher division over it.prostartom, Crude Truckin', LoneRanger and 3 others Thank this. -
Don't know if all terminals paid that way, but the Nashville terminal did. Also, paid for meal money if we turned in a receipt. Paid for 10 hr. breaks and 34 hr. restart.RussianBearTruckeR and Another Canadian driver Thank this. -
I know two otr companies that pay hourly, from the time you leave the terminal until you return to the terminal.

Whether a driver gets paid hourly or the mileage, it's going to be based on whatever percentage each company allocates for payroll. For OTR drivers, I'm inclined to think it'll be a wash.

Considering I was getting, based on CPM $60/hr on mileage. I wouldn't want to take the cut in pay. LOL

I would rather stick to what I understand, which is cpm.
I know what to expect when it comes to shippers/receivers and fueling and all the other stuff.
What I would never understand is the round about way they might take to average out the hours I work vs. the straight mileage pay.
I have no doubt the bean counters would make it better for the company side.
Just like when our bonus structure changed a couple years ago.
They made it from very simple to very complicated, adding in new requirements.
My bonus pay is nowhere near what it used to be. Maybe 1/3 of what it was.Another Canadian driver, bryan21384 and Kyle G. Thank this.
