I recommend you talk to some one about this in person rather on the net. There are so many factors that you are unaware due to your inexperience. No reason to get beat up here. Guys just wanna help and not have folks get burned. Your buddy I reckon is leased on and does not have authority or he would have schooled you in on details.

it’s the broker license$300
Then the broker authority which is 75k, not trying to argue I just don’t get where your trying to go with your point. -
-
Again, a license is a state/county/city issue, a business license
Again, broker authority is not 75K
Quit calling it a license, it;s not. It's authority grant by the feds. It's why no one can really understand what you are saying
You keep using whatever term you want and it makes no sense. Go to the FMCSA and at least learn the correct terms.Siinman Thanks this. -

Let’s say, I have a license in CA and I also get my authority. Now I go to NV, I get my license for NV do I still need the get the authority also? -
you have a brokers authority or a motor carriers authority. All licenses have to do with city and state.
authorities are federal and good for all states.
For the trucks you need a DOT and MC, as well as IRP/IFTA. Now if you plan on only getting loads for your own trucks then a brokers authority isn’t needed, because your position is basically finding direct customers aka Shippers, and skipping the brokers all together.
Now if you are getting a brokers authority then you need to understand that this is only needed if you are going to be brokering loads to other trucks as well not to yours only.
getting a brokers authority without having any sales experience and asking the basic questions means you are not ready for that. In fact your going to cause a lot of issues for everyone involved.
Im not sure how clearly it can be explained. You arnt getting a Nevada business up and running without physically moving here or any other states.
essentially you are trying to buy a race car before you can even learn how to race a car.Last edited: Jul 21, 2022
Siinman, Phoenix Heavy Haul and Short Fuse EOD Thank this. -
and I meant the license for a broker. From the last message he was telling me, I understood that if I leave CA with a license I would need a new one in NV. But with the authority it’s good all over America? -
