Its a fools gold rush. But they do hire freaks of every kind , like a carnival freak show

 

Actually the worst drivers seem to be those working for companies like CRST, Swift, Western and all the others with cameras everyplace and speed limiters. Almost all I have met and talked to just believe what thier company told them in training and do not truly understand traffic flow!
Yesterday I was trapped behind a western express driver who immediately pulled from the ramp into the left lane, took forever to reach his limited speed on the corner of the truck that was ahead of him on the ramp.
He never made it to the 65 mph speed limit but stayed beside the other truck the entire time 30 miles. He even ignored the stay right going up the mountain passes and backed traffic up for miles. At the truck stop he was preaching about how his company is so great, his training so great and his driving being second to none. Fact is he doesn’t equate to a pimple on a real truck drivers but!
If anyone believes speed is the only evil and not being speed limited is the ultimate sin they have no clue, they are underpaid, work for a company with poor training practices, believe what they are told because that’s what they were told but have no understanding of the truth.
Fact is the indepenant wants to get away from your speed limited truck, because you can’t do the speed limit, block the highway, create congestion, make them loose MPG and in most cases by your driving that they get to witness first hand is not as top notch as you think. Propmpting them to want to get away from you.
I am a company driver because I wanted to be home everyday and not deal with other things anymore. Since taking seat in a speed limited truck I have had no issue with independents but have issues daily with the speed limited company drivers. It blocking traffic, cutting off other traffic, not able to hold thier own lane, panic braking when not even remotely needed, not patient on hills but not having enough to pull the pass off, cutting out into a passing lane with someone on thier corner at on ramps that is doing the speed limit at the last second. Do you even know it’s the merging cars responsibility to merge not yours to cause a situation in the left to make room for them?
My all time favorite is the fact they took the gearbox away and replaced it with an automatic so you idiots can spend more time daydreaming and texting on your phones instead of focusing on your driving.

Had a conversation with a brainwashed driver the other day who thinks it’s perfectly ok to block the other lane in a construction zone because she is uncomfortable when people pass. Want to know why your stuck almost coming to a stop on the uphill in that construction zone? Her actions lead to that too because she thinks 50 mph is too fast and slows us all down but she never hauled anything more than 19,000 in her year and a half. She hasn’t a clue what it’s like to carry a real load. Guess what just like all the others I talk with she isn’t an independent but an other brainwashed driver with a bunch of cameras, speed limiters, poor training and some safety statements given her by a bunch of office personnel that also didn’t cut it as drivers.

 

That’s a mouthful!

My friend asked the girl at the counter, why everyone seems to cut people off at the last moment on the state road coming out of town to the truck stop she works at. She was unaware he was the driver of one of the two trucks she pulled out in front of on her way in that morning.
Her answer, they have brakes they can use them! His answer they don’t work like the brakes in your car do and you almost met your maker but your too stupid to know it. He also said something about hope she has insurance because sooner or later someone is going to react to her decision in the same manner and decide to force her to use it.

 

A reasonable person might ask, Why do I keep getting rear Ended?

At a neighborhood function a few years back a local was complaining that he was rear ended twice, constantly has people getting too close, and people are always blowing thier horns at him as he turns onto the side road coming home. He blamed it all on impatient drivers and was basically badmouthing everyone but himself.
I decided to boldly tell him the truth about his driving.
First he drives way below the posted speed limit.
This causes traffic to back up behind him and does not make him any safer no matter what he thinks.
Second once traffic has been backed up the cars behind start having to put more focus on what’s happening behind than they should.
Third He hits his brake hard out of the blue with no turn signal and brings everyone to a sudden crawl long before his turn and then as he is about half way into his turn his signal finally comes on for one maybe two flashes as he coasts threw rarely if ever using his gas pedal because he is afraid his car might flip at 1/2 mph.
After his initial shock at my observation he questioned me some on what he should do and after giving him instruction on proper use of turn signals, proper speed management and a long lesson on why, how his car is actually capeable of going down the road safely at the speed limit and is also able to make that not really sharp turn off the main road at a speed greater than 1/2 mph. He actually tried driving correctly. Just as I expressed he hasn’t had all the in his mind close calls and horn blowing he used to experiance and his car didn’t just roll over leaving the main road at a reasonable pace.
Maybe this guy could also benefit from a rude awakening!
