I always tried to keep 32 in the front and 28-30 in my rear tires. It was difficult sometimes because the S-10 spent so much time parked.

I would agree that at this time the technology available is not appropriate for over the road trucking, Nor long distance cars if not a slow wandering mosey.

That being said where it does work is as car for somebody like me. I'll be running up to Seattle today it's about 100 miles each way. That is no problem for the new cars from KIA/Hyundai that I am looking at. Would recharge overnight off a standard 3 prong 120 plug, I am planning to put in 240 outlets (similar to a dryer or range) for the next tier charging which will take the charge time down considerably. Rapid charges take the 80% recharge to 20 minutes, the equivalent of a bathroom break.

There is another option that few talk about because infrastructure is even worse than electric........ Hydrogen.

Honda developed the technology at UC Davis with grants during the Schwarzenegger admin time frame. Heck they modded a Hummer to fuel cell for him.

Unfortunately there is very few places to fill up outside of major metro areas in Cali. Though a few municipalities have changed over some buses, I believe this is a technology that will fade away
