must be a "division" of CoreMark, that just is not union, as the rest of CoreMark is
if i recall, when a person wants to work at a union company, you MUST join or you just go someplace else.
so, from what i gather is, should you "decide" in the future to do another diviosn with DoreMark, and that division IS union..??
you would have to join.
i say, stay there, there can be other possibilities for different hauling with them, and you can "almost slide" into another division easier than someone off the street, since you are of known quality.
Between a union gig or JB Hunt?

Forced to join a union depends on the state. Tennessee, drivers can work for a union company and elect to not join the union. When I worked there, we had 2 or 3 drivers that chose to not join. The other drivers, including me, didn't care one way or the other what they chose. None of our business.

in a labor dispute, the non union people WILL NOT get union representation, and "get away" with things like a union member, in fact, with NO union protection? firings are much easier.
i am NOT a big union guy, never was. but why lose out on protection and benefits..??? even pay raises..
the union people might get (say $1.00) more per hour each raise, the non union people might get 25¢ per hour more, and what can they do? union's gonna say.."well, you ain't in the union, you take what they give you, or join, or leave"LtlAnonymous Thanks this. -
When a state passes a right-to-work law, it prohibits both mandatory union membership and initiation fees and dues obligations of agency shops, and permits employees who do not voluntarily pay dues and initiation fees to receive the benefits the union provides. Unions call such people "free riders."Gearjammin' Penguin, LtlAnonymous and Dennixx Thank this. -

Those right to work laws exist to weaken unions. They prey on human nature for selfish people to want to save fifty whole bucks a month while getting all the benefits of union negotiations.

for instance, when i worked at NAVL, i worked for ComTrans, the commercial transport division of NAVL, all the other divisions were o/o, like flat bed, bed bug, electronics
so, CoreMark, is a division of maybe the umbrella company that owns them as well as the union side of those companies. -
