Is pre-trip inspection book required

I agree, it's better off do do what the employer says, even if it's illegal. You could lose your job, and you may never be able to get a job for another trucking company as long as you live...

In fact I said he should probably mention that he called the DOT on his former employer .....and that would probably get him bonus points at the interview ... didn't I. ???

I slip seat every day with my job. We used to run a paper DVIR book in the truck, now we are electronic. Nonetheless, we are still required by law to be able show a DVIR record for the past 30 days for the equipment.

What EDL are you using ?
The three that I have used all had a Inspection mode.

 

I look at this two ways
1- you called them out and any new company might not like that but two, any reputable company might see it as a plus. That you actually care

 

The former seems more likely than the later, with "reputable" being the operative term in that statement...
