I'll post a pic of my hours.

Thing is, I've already burned a lot of time today. I need to make it 677 miles by 8:30am tomorrow. Once I finish three hours, I'll get 7:45 drive time. Then take 7 in the sleeper. Then after that, what happens to my hours? Will I wake up at 4am with magically enough hours to finish the journey? That's the part I can't figure out, and I never learned because it really hardly ever applies to what I do. In fact, this is the first possible time in two years.

It's currently 1:03pm. I need to make 11hr drive by 8:30am tomorrow. Is it possible?

    I'm thinking it's a wash here.

I can never predict my hours either when I would use SB. I sometimes can see the next step, but the step after that I could only wait and see what ELD told me.

So after the 7, I'd get back my drive time from this morning. But after I burn that getting the rest of the way to the receiver, then I take another 3, but how many hours do I get back then?

Yeah the hours are screwy, but the money from this load and the previous is justifying it. Only reason I even took this load is because I was trolling the broker because I was in a bad mood, and he actually took the offer. Did not expect that...and them I couldn't let the man call my bluff, so here I am.

After the 3 you get another 7 hours back.

you have 11 hours to drive. Add both sides of a break on a split. They can not add up to more than 11 hour drive or 14 hours on duty.

    is that clear?

    4.5 hours drive
    3 hours off duty
    6.5 hours drive
    7 hours sleeper berth

    4.5 +6.5= 11
    3+7= 10

Make sure to use sleeper berth. It’s not legal to make both breaks off duty

    So in my case -
    3 off
7.46 drive (because I burned so much on duty)
    7 off
    2.65 drive
    3 off
    8.35 drive
    7 off
    2.65 drive
    3 off
    8.35 drive
...and so on into perpetuity? Basically after the second 3 off, you get the rest of your 11, minus what you drove before the 3 off.
