    Got another one today. :biggrin_25523:

And priceless was the look of shock on the face of the elderly lady who watched me roll it up and leave it by the pole, who probably wondered why I didn’t spontaneously combust.

And this one made a hell of a mess too. It was definitely the biggest one I ever tore down.

What is it with people who tell on themselves? Me? No I couldn’t have done that. I was in East Bumfook on the day you speak of.

Five years ago I would have agreed with you. But now a days just about everyone has doorbell or WiFi security cameras.

We had one guy a year or so ago that did a residential delivery and ran over the property owners garden gnomes with his trailer. When called out on it he denied it to the bitter end until my TM played back the doorbell footage of his trailer crunching Mr & Mrs Gnome and orphaning poor baby gnome in the process.

The dude lost his job over $20 worth of garden decor. My point is, if you hit something, self identify. Management will sort it out. Worst case scenario you will get hit with a preventable, but at least they trust you to fess up.

That and the eld will show you were there. For me it's called integrity. Own up to your actions.

The people who say don't tell on yourself. Are the same ones who would leave the scene of a fatality hit and run.

"I didn't kill that mother of three jogging down the road. I was in East Bumfook that day."

As said above cameras. It is not worth being charged with leaving the scene of an accident involving a CMV, that is an automatic disqualification of your CDL. The damage is always cheaper than loss of your career, and with phone lines likely it won't even be the driver's fault. Likely they were hung below code requirements for over a driveway, alley or roadway.

That is a broad judgment you are making about someone you don’t even know.

Y’all need to lighten up. There is a big difference between a serious situation and tripping and skinning your nose.

There is a lot of subjective opinions on what you can or should get away with. Causing property damage means the responsible party has to make the property owner whole again and restore the damages like they never happened.

Taking down utility lines that don't meet code is one thing, backing into someone's vehicle is another. The bottom line is integrity. My coworker was fired over some stupid garden gnomes. The parting words were that he got three chances to admit what he did and he lied to my TMs face each time. How can you possibly trust someone that lies about $20 of damages when they are hauling hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of freight?

Heard of the term character? From your ruffled feathers. It seems not.

Falling down and hurting yourself. In no way compares.

Sure garden gnomes and a life are at the opposite ends of the scale. But a person who lacks the integrity and character to admit to the first. Most likely lacks it to admit it in the second.
